Abhivyakti School of Kathak, a Kathak institute based in Pune, was founded by Amruta Paranjape in the year 2010. Age and gender being no bar, the institute has its doors open to anyone above the age of 7. With the teaching experience of more than a decade, the institute focuses on training its students in the authentic form of Kathak. Along with traditional Kathak training, the institute aims to inculcate a sense of musicality and the importance of a fitness regime in all its students. All students gather together twice a year to celebrate art during the festival of Gurupournima and during Kathak Vidha (annual showcase of the institute). 

Amruta Paranjape trains dancers to pursue Graduate and Post-Graduate courses in Kathak from Lalit Kala Kendra (Pune University) and Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University. Along with encouraging her students to pursue a career in dance, she welcomes all students who wish to learn under her guidance and further pursue BA or MA courses from the above said universities. She aims to create and train dancers who are self-sufficient by all means.

Above all, Abhivyakti School of Kathak is a positive and nurturing space, where one can immerse himself in learning, exploring and surrendering to art. As Martha Graham says, “What words cannot express, dance does.” Abhivyakti School of Kathak strives to be a place which will help one express himself and commence the journey of self-exploration.
